Television writer Sam Lynch accidentally overhears a sinister conversation between two men, Mr. Clark and Baby Hoffman, as they plot the kidnapping, and possibly the murder, of wealthy socialite Kay Salisbury. Their plan involves demanding a large ransom from her father.
